| Case Study: Frog Island MBT Plant |
WISenvironmental have extensive experience with the technical and environmental requirements and plant elements of waste processing plant, which they have used to assist all parties in the successful outcome of the commissioning and testing process. An example of how good and robust plant commissioning can mitigate many teething problems is the large waste generating plant at Frog Island and Jenkins Lane Bio MRF projects based in the Thames estuary.
WISenvironmental provided Mouchel/Shanks with Commissioning - Supervision and Infrastructure Services for the project. This included setting up a QA system tailored to the project, contractor training in the use of the system and progress tracking. Specific responsibilities were to observe that contractors installed and commissioned the equipment according to their contractual obligations, in accordance to relevant standards and to UK codes of practice. This allows the user to co-ordinate, monitor progress and quality assure work carried out by several contractors.
WISenvironmental have also used their extensive experience for the contractually defined Test on Completion, providing detailed forms and organizational elements to ensure testing was done according to established rules and witnessed by relevant client, operator and investor stakeholders. |
