WISenvironmental recognise that organisations' responsibilities go beyond financial considerations. There is increasing pressure on organisations to understand and manage their environmental performance. In some cases this can be as a result of pressure from customers asking questions about environmental policy and programmes. In other cases organisations may experience difficulties in evaluating compliance with ever-changing environmental regulations emerging from Government and the EU.

CASE HISTORIES/EXPERIENCE
Client, Location Project Duration
Provider of coach transport services, London, August-September 2009
Project summary
The coach services provider requested advice related to vehicle washing operations due to a change in adjacent land use. This required becoming as familiar as possible with the present surface and foul drainage system in place at the operating centre. Options available were reviewed and preliminary costs evaluated. A brief regulatory review was also carried out that focussed on oil storage, emergency preparedness and wastes management and in particular hazardous waste.
Client, Location, Project Duration
Small joinery near Godalming, Surrey, October-January 2001
Project Summary
The client, an operator of a successful joinery, commissioned a waste minimisation study to establish current waste arising patterns and to explore alternative outlets for materials that presently end up disposed into landfill. The project researched and identified alternative uses of two waste streams, wood shavings and cut-offs, and coordinated successful connections between the company and users of the materials. |
