Roberto Vogel, Principal and Managing Director
Roberto founded Waste Industry Services (WIS), now trading as WISenvironmental in December 1993. He holds a BSc (Hons)(Eng) MechEDAT from the University of Warwick and is a recognised member of the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management, an Associate Environment Auditor (EARA Registered) and a member of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA). Previously Roberto has worked as a Chief Commissioning Engineer for Von Roll, Switzerland and as a Senior Process Engineer in the Waste Treatment Department of Aspinwall & Co Ltd in UK. Over the years Roberto has worked as an expert in the field of project management, feasibility and Best Practice Environment Option study, audit, planning commissioning and training on a wide range of energy from waste projects. Additionally he has gained competencies in life cycle analysis, auditing and general environmental consultancy work with WISenvironmental.
Robert Holmes, Principal
Robert is an environmental specialist with an academic background to doctorate level in geology and geochemistry who has been working with leading environmental consultancies for more than 20 years. For more than 10 years prior to that he managed the environmental team of Cleanaway one of the UK's leading waste management companies. He registered with IRCA in January 2009 as an ISO14001 environmental management systems Principal Auditor. He has been conducting EMS certification audits with DNV Certification as a sub-contractor since the start of 2006 and is now qualified as a Lead EMS Auditor. In addition he has been registered as a Principal Environmental Auditor with IEMA since 1993. He is also registered as a BREEAM Industrial Assessor. He specialises in environmental auditing and liability assessments, environmental management systems and site investigations. He has participated in compliance assurance audits of manufacturing facilities of multinational corporations including Abbott, BMS and FMC during 2008-9 in the UK and Ireland.
Jérémie Berthet, Process Engineer
Jérémie's academic background consists of a BSc in Engineering in environmental processes from the University of Provence and he has graduated in July 2008 with the Energy, Environment and Bioprocesses MSc Engineering from the Technical University of Paul Cezanne. In 2006/2007 he has studied Solid Waste Management Systems and Technologies at the Technical University of Denmark in Copenhagen. Previously Jérémie has worked within the Drinking Water Management Department of Rennes City Council where he was responsible for a project aiming to improve the quality of the water held in the city's main reservoirs.
Peter Hird, Civil Engineer
Peter is an independent civil engineer and member of the Institution of Civil Engineers with an academic background to doctorate level who has been working as an independent professional for nearly 20 years from a base in south-west London. Prior to that he worked with a number of environmental engineering consultancy practices principally overseas and in the Middle East. He designed sea water structures, oversaw the repair of buildings and structures and implemented contractor management programmes. The majority of his current work is UK based and is in the provision of general engineering analysis, design and procedures including quality assurance services in the waste sector. He has acted most recently as Engineer and CQA Consultant in a number of earth works and restoration projects.
Allistair Kirk, Engineering team leader
Allistair is engineering team leader; he has qualified with an OND in Mechanical & Marine engineering. Previously he has worked as Chief Petty Officer Marine Engineering Artificer in the Navy. He has considerable experience encompassing maintenance and repair of boilers and other high pressure and pump machineries. He has been responsible for ensuring machinery and systems availability at all times to ensure efficient operation of ship engineering departments. Allistair is also conversant with Incineration plant process. He is the on-site responsible representative for efficient and safe boiler cleaning procedures.
Stephen Holland, Mechanical & Electrical Engineer
Stephen holds a BTEC Diploma in mechanical and Electrical Marine Engineering. With more than 20 years experience as a Warrant Officer for the Royal Navy and as a process technician for ExxonMobil, he is a successful engineer and a dynamic diagnostician. He has undertaken the maintenance of steam propulsion and oil refinery plants, diesel generators and various hydraulics systems. With the combination of organisational and technical skills, Stephen has the ability to ensure completion of complex projects. He is now responsible for the implementation of high-quality procedures ensuring the efficient cleaning of various combustion plants.
Owen Clingan, Environmental Engineer
Owen is an environmental acoustician holding an honours degree in mechanical engineering and membership of the Institute of Acoustics. He has been working as a sole practitioner from his base in Luton, Bedfordshire since January 1996, prior to which he worked for Aspinwall & Company, which subsequently became Enviros Consulting. Capabilities include the monitoring, prediction and assessment of environmental noise arising from transportation and industrial noise sources with some parallel capabilities in environmental vibration. Noise predictions for complex situations are modelled using the NoiseMap software package. Project experience is wide-ranging, including noise and vibration assessments for residential, commercial and waste management developments, with all elements being undertaken from baseline noise monitoring to reporting. Recent work on major projects requiring EIAs includes noise and vibration assessments for large residential and mixed developments, large industrial developments, a power station, a section of a strategic gas pipeline and a bypass road scheme. |
